I currently collect and process the following information:

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• To help keep you safe in the therapy sessions while with me.

I also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

• For example, from GP ISSUES OF RISK.

We use the information that you have given me in order to. Keep you safe.at all times – as a therapist I am bound by the BACP CODE OF ETHICS and, I have a duty of care to the public.

We may share this information with GP. Statutory services – to keep you safe.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting me- your therapist see contact details on my website.

(b) We have a contractual obligation. The therapy contracts.

(c) We have a legal obligation. (GDPR.)

(d) We have a vital interest. – to protect life

(E) We have a legitimate interest- keeping you safe.

(f) public interests – to keep the general public safe.

How we store your personal information:

Your information is securely stored.

We keep counselling notes/and other identifiable information for 7 years after therapy ends. We will then dispose your information. your personal details will be destroyed using secure software.

Your personal identifiable information (including counselling notes personal identifying details) is kept for retrieval by you the client. and in some cases, can be subpoenaed for legal purposes in a court summons action. or in case you feel you need to record a complaint against the counsellor.

Your data protection rights:

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

1. Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
2. Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
3. Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
4. Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
5. Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
6. Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
7. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
